Jon Stainbrook is featured in UK magazine

SwampBubbles.com Stainbrook Items - Thu, 10/30/2008 - 23:17

I did not know Jon was "Joe the Plumber's" unofficial spokesperson. I don't know what to take from the impression the author presents, it could go both ways: positive and negative. What do you think?

Stainbrook misses another deadline-has suspicious income and expenditure amounts

SwampBubbles.com Stainbrook Items - Fri, 10/24/2008 - 17:41

What was funny is now just becoming sad. Maggie Thurber is reporting that the Lucas GOP is late again on an important deadilnes and they are admitting they have not filed a complete report. Are they violating the law by not filing?
-------
Despite their objections to deadlines being missed by their predecessors, it appears our current Lucas County Republican Party leadership has the same problem. Not only did they fail to file the proper paperwork to place Jan Scotland on the ballot, but yesterday they missed their campaign finance report deadline.

http://thurbersthoughts.blogspot.com/2008/10/another-filing-deadline-mis...
----
I cannot believe that they only had one donor and had less expenditures than $1000. Maggie also has on her Blog the research where the ORC says they should have filed expenditures.

Are Lucas GOP funds being used against local Republicans?

SwampBubbles.com Stainbrook Items - Fri, 10/24/2008 - 11:59

By now its no secret Jon Satinbrook worked for John Kerry according to the Blade, and his hottie Megan Gallagher worked for Democrats Ben Konop and Jack Ford.

His attorney, Scott Ciolek, now appears to have given donations to Democrat Darlene Dunn, according to the Secretary of State reports. Of course it could be a different Scott Ciolek.

It will be interesting to see in the Lucas GOP has payed Ciolek for his services. Hopefully Mr. Stainbrook will look into this

From stealing medicine from a sick patient at the Toledo Hospital to Lucas County GOP Central Committee chair

SwampBubbles.com Stainbrook Items - Tue, 10/21/2008 - 01:03

Yesterday, I posted a link of some protesters protesting the Lucas County GOP and I thought it was interesting that there was a mug shot of Meghan Gallagher on the poster. Well a little bit of snooping around landed me some more information on why she has a mug shot in the court system. The reason: Meghan was caught stealing medicine from a sick patient at the Toledo Hospital.

Abusing homeless and stealing from sick patients are two things that can get you a ticket straight to hell. Fortunately, the patent reported it which is what got Meghan arrested. Meghan admitted to being addicted to pain killers.

I have attached a copy of the police report and case files. They are an interesting read. Also note the person named “John” who called the victim wanting to make everything right to avoid a police report.

Now this did not happen in New York, but happened right here in Toledo. Makes you wonder why some deserve articles in the Toledo Blade while others get ignored. I also filed this under media bias because I am also trying to make a point about coverage. It also makes Jon Stainbrook look like an absolute idiot for trying to act all holier than thou, while sitting on a chest bulging at the seams of skeletons. Jon, if you had standards, you would fire Meghan and ask her to resign from Central Committee, because that is the exact thing you said should have been done. But maybe there is more to the story…

I have also included the brochure from the University of Toledo commencement where Meghan proudly listed she worked on Jack Ford's and Ben Konop’s campaign. And people wonder if Jon and Meghan are real Republicans? How can you not?

Jon Stainbrook protestors at McCain event

SwampBubbles.com Stainbrook Items - Sun, 10/19/2008 - 21:05

Lisa Renee took some photos of the event and I noticed Jon Stainbrook protesters at the McCain event (no Aaron Lewis of Staind was not there). Interesting that there was a Megan Gallagher mug shot being used on the one sign.

I was sent another photo from someone else:

The Fallen Timbers Republican Club joins other area clubs denouncing the endorsement of Levies by the Party Chairman

SwampBubbles.com Stainbrook Items - Sat, 10/18/2008 - 11:44

In following the admirable lead of Jeff Simpson and The Young Republican Club, The Fallen Timbers Republican Club Executive Board Members officially oppose the endorsement of levies, including the COSI levy, by the Lucas County Republican Party. The Club was prompted to take a public stance due to extensive contacts from it's membership regarding their disenchantment with the disappointing endorsement of the levies by Jon Stainbrook, Chairman of the Lucas County Republican Party.

The endorsement of these levies mar the core beliefs of the Republican Party. The Club is strongly against tax increases and the funneling of public funds to non-profit/private entities. Our members are resolute with their opposition to levies such as COSI, which clearly violates the soul of the Republican Party and conservative principals. The Club is strongly against tax increases and the funneling of public funds to non-profit/private entities. Our members are resolute with their opposition to endorsing levies which clearly violates the soul of the Republican Party and conservative principals.

The Fallen Timbers Republican Club believes that COSI should be privately-funded and not subsidized by the already over-taxed families in Lucas County. When COSI was founded, it was intended to be self-sufficient by donations and admission fees. Furthermore, citizens have given the responsibility and their tax dollars to public schools to teach science not to non-profit/private entities such as COSI.

FTRC President and Lucas County Republican Party Executive Member Christine Seles was not notified of the Executive meeting by the LCRP and is quoted as saying: "I would have voted “no” on any motion to endorse COSI or any other levy. My position is that elected officials should not tell people how to vote, and as a republican I am unsettled at the local chairman’s position on endorsing taxes. The voter should be allowed to form their own judgments on how to spend their hard earned dollars."

Furthermore the FTRC Officers would like to express our dismay that Jon Stainbrook did not adhere to the LCRP by-laws. Chairman Stainbrook did not inform the entire executive committee of the meeting. The FTRC has been informed by an member and other attendees that the meeting was not properly conducted in compliance with Roberts Rules of Order, and that Chairman Stainbrook voted twice on the same motion to break a tie vote. We would hope that the LCRP by-laws and proper parliamentary procedure is followed at future LCRP meetings.

To be a "Maverick" is to stand up and fight for what is right when you see something is wrong. The FTRC is inspired by Senator John McCain and Governor Sarah Palin, our true American Maverick's, as we also make our stand to protect the core principals of the republican party.

Greater Toledo Republican Women Club voted to not support COSI levy

SwampBubbles.com Stainbrook Items - Sat, 10/18/2008 - 07:23

Toledo, OH - The Executive Board of the Greater Toledo Republican Women voted unanimously to speak out against the decision of the Lucas County Republican Party to endorse a variety of tax levies, including the COSI Levy. As Republicans we have no business lending our support to increase taxes for our community.
"I was shocked to hear that Mr. Stainbrook would push for the support of any type of levy." sard Kay Clawson. "Had I been informed of the meeting I would certainly have been there. I hope Mr. Stainbrook will strive to adhere to our party bylaws in regards to future meetings."

Young Republicans support lower taxes, unlike Jon Stainbrook and the "New Party"

SwampBubbles.com Stainbrook Items - Thu, 10/16/2008 - 22:05

If this is an example of the "New Party", then we are in for only more disappointment. It sounds very Rinoish. Thank goodness that the Young Republicans (I am Vice President) are standing up for lower taxes and good government. If you did not hear Jon this morning on Fred's show you should.

Young Republicans oppose Republican Party Levy Endorsement

This in via email from the Lucas County Young Republicans:

Toledo Young Republican Club Opposes Republican Party Levy Endorsement

TOLEDO, OH — In a controversial vote on Wednesday, October 15, the Lucas County Republican Party chose to support a variety of property tax levies, including the COSI levy, slated to appear on the November ballot.

The Executive Committee of Toledo Young Republican Club has publicly come-out against the Party’s support of the levies because it is, as they say, counter to the Young Republican Club’s stated mission to infuse the ideas of freedom and liberty into the framework of local government.

“This was not an easy decision to make,” stated Club President, Jeff Simpson. “The Young Republican Club is on the same team as the County Party but this endorsement to raise our neighbor’s property taxes is against the values of the Club,” Simpson said.

According to the Lucas County Auditor’s office, if all levies on the ballot pass in the upcoming election, it would raise the property taxes on a $100,000 house in Toledo by approximately $95.00 per year. A move, many in the community say they cannot afford in the current economic climate.

Simpson concluded that, “Despite this disagreement, the Young Republican Club will continue to help local Republican Candidates this election season, but we would not be living up to our own principles or serving our members well if we supported these tax levies with the County Party.”

The mission of the Toledo Young Republican Club is to provide leadership within our state, county, city and communities while enhancing fellowship between our members and creating working relationships with those in public policy positions. This is done in order to infuse the ideas of freedom and liberty into the framework of our local governments.

Waterville Mayor On Eye On Toledo Tonight

SwampBubbles.com Stainbrook Items - Thu, 10/16/2008 - 15:39

Derek Merrin, mayor of Waterville, a member of the Lucas County Republican Party was reffered to this morning on my show as "the whiny mayor of Waterville" by one of Jon Stainbrook's operatives. He also claims that the mayor has not volunteered to help on the McCain campaign.
Mayor Merrin answers those charges and adds a number of other interesting things to the conversation when Maggie Thurber plays an interview she conducted this afternoon on Eye On Toledo which begins at 6p on 1370 WSPD.

Troy Neff Show: Jon Stainbrook misses another opportunity for this campaign

SwampBubbles.com Stainbrook Items - Tue, 10/07/2008 - 12:34

Jon Stainbrok and Matthew Bartow were invited to host the Troy Neff show this morning. Troy trying to reach an olive branch over to rest of the GOP. Matthew had informed the show they chose to decline the invitation. John chose to spend 5 minutes on another show instead of four hours talking to his candidates and the issues that that are important for the Lucas County GOP. Now while the other show feels they had a coup, we feel truly sorry for all the candidates that are in a close race that just missed another opportunity for this campaign. Another great decision for the Lucas County GOP.
